2nd Alarm Project | Behavioral Health Resources for First Responders

BHAP Toolkit

The 2nd Alarm Project provides support to departments in building comprehensive Behavioral Health Access Programs (BHAP). The BHAP is recognized by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation as a best practice and is becoming a world standard of care for first responders. Our team and amazing partners created this BHAP Toolkit that gives first responder departments concrete tools, resources, and strategies to integrate the BHAP model into their day-to-day operations. The BHAP Toolkit includes sections on how to create programs and supports for first responders and their families.

The Toolkit also includes a section for clinicians interested in working with first responders. This section of the Toolkit helps to build clinicians’ capacity and connect them with the best available training and resources to provide culturally competent treatment for first responders and their families. The 2nd Alarm Project, in partnership with UCF RESTORES and the Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative, and with support from The Florida Department of Children and Families, is excited to bring you this widely requested first responder mental wellness resource.
